Congratulations to YMCA Edinburgh and the team behind Concrete Brothers, a film focusing on issues around street violence. The film was screened at the Scottish Parliament on 9th May 2012. It has received high praise from Kenny MacAskill MSP and Malcolm Chisholm MSP.
Kenny MacAskill said: “The Young Men’s Group at the YMCA have worked hard on this project and I am delighted to welcome them to the Scottish Parliament to celebrate their success.
“I understand that the film project has encouraged some of the group to apply for media courses at college and another has had access to training at the BBC. This is fantastic news.
The film was funded by CashBack for Communities Anti-Violence Fund, which takes proceeds from criminal activity and feeds it back into the community via various projects.
