Our weekly Credit Union sessions are every Tuesday in The Well Cafe / Reception at 25 Nicolson Square, EH8 9BX.
Do you need some financial help or information? Our specially-trained volunteers will provide information about joining Capital Credit Union, and about credit unions in general. Credit Unions are safe and ethical and can help people get their finances back on track.
We can guide you through online information; and we also act as a collection point for savings, if you are already a member.
The sessions run from 1pm – 3pm. All welcome.
We’re delighted about our partnership with Capital Credit Union, which offers credit union financial services to church members, staff and the wider community in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Borders. These services can help people to build up savings, get mortgage advice and affordable loans.>>> What Is A Credit Union?
Credit Unions are regulated not-for-profit, member-owned (mutual), financial service co-operatives, and can best be described as organisations that encourage their members to save and lend responsibly. This allows these members the opportunity to gain greater control over their finances.
>>> How do credit unions differ from banks and building societies?
– Credit Unions believe in the creation of wealth, not debt
– Credit Unions have no external shareholders
– Credit unions are restricted as to how high they charge interest
All UK credit unions are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).
