I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 1 Cor 14: 15
Music plays a vital part in the worship life of the City of Edinburgh Methodist Church. Our choir provides musical leadership for morning services each week and special services throughout the liturgical year. The choir number around 16 mixed voices and have a large repertoire dating from the 14th century to the present day.
Throughout the history of the Methodist churches in Edinburgh there has been a strong emphasis on the importance of a choral tradition, and it is this tradition that we still maintain today.
Choir practice is held every Thursday from 7.45pm to 9.30pm at Nicolson Square for the Sunday morning service. There is an additional practice before the service at 10.20am.
The church choir is a versatile and amiable group of volunteers who primarily love to sing. There is no requirement to joining the church choir other than commitment and a passion for music. If you are interested in joining the our choir then please be in touch with the Director of Music. We sincerely hope that you may consider joining us.
